Thank you for popping by-- we warmly welcome you. My name is Erika Stefanutti and I'm our studio's founder. Parvum Opus is a boutique bindery dedicated to helping you make your workspace beautiful and inspiring with our bespoke handcrafted desk furnishings. We are known for our meticulous craftsmanship and timely, fastidious customer service. All of our products are made one piece at a time in our atelier in Birmingham, Michigan using traditional bookbinding techniques and the finest materials available.
Here in our shop you'll find a complete range of desk organizers, paper trays, desk blotters, archival boxes, picture frames and much more, all available in countless color combinations. In addition to the pieces in our collection, we're always happy to collaborate with you if you have a special design in mind, or would like us to source a custom paper for you.
One of our most popular items is our annual limited edition easel desk calendar. All of the motifs featured in our desk calendars are beautifully printed from my own original watercolor paintings. My artistic training includes degrees from both The University of Michigan where I completed my BFA, and Cranbrook Academy of Art where I earned my MFA. Throughout my studies, I've focused on craft and the decorative arts, and I'm delighted to share this passion with our clientele: each painting in our calendar collection is a portrait study of an exquisite antique art object curated from many centuries of global decorative arts history.
Parvum Opus, a Latin term for a diminutive work of art, perfectly describes the way we approach all of the work that comes out of the bindery: small things, beautifully done. We believe that when beautifully designed and crafted, even the most simple household object has the power to improve our daily experience. Everything we do here is rooted in a deep respect for craft tradition and materials, and the exquisite papers and other materials we use are a joy to work with and provide endless inspiration.
William Morris, father of the Arts and Crafts Movement famously said, "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." We hope that when you bring Parvum Opus desk furnishings into your homes, the enjoyment you have in using them will equal the enjoyment we have in designing and creating them for you. I thank you for your interest in our work, and if I can answer any questions about the bindery or any project you may have in mind, it will be my great pleasure.
